Terms of Service

Last updated: May 5, 2026

The short version

Use Snipetic for legitimate purposes. The Chrome edition is free. The Microsoft Edge edition may offer optional Pro features. Do not capture content you do not have the right to capture.

Acceptance

By installing or using the Snipetic browser extension — in either the Chrome or Microsoft Edge edition — you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the extension. These terms apply to both browser versions and to both the free and Pro tiers where applicable.

Browser versions

Snipetic is available for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Feature availability, Pro availability, and pricing may vary by browser and release channel.

Snipetic for Chrome is currently offered as a free edition. It does not include Pro checkout, trial activation, license-status checks, or subscriptions.

Snipetic for Microsoft Edge may include a free tier and optional Snipetic Pro for $11/year, with a 7-day free trial on new installs.

What Snipetic does

Snipetic is a browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge that captures screenshots (full page, visible area, selected area, element pick) and provides in-page design tools — color picker, element inspector, spacing visualizer, color palette extractor, contrast checker, and breakpoint indicator. Captures open in a built-in viewer with annotation and export tools. All capture processing happens locally in your browser. We do not receive, store, or have access to the content of pages you capture.

Additional features including scroll container capture, ruler, font analyzer, arrow and blur annotations, and browser frame mockup are available in Snipetic for Microsoft Edge with a Pro license. Feature availability varies by browser edition — see the Browser Versions section above.

Some features inject CSS or read computed styles from pages you visit (element inspector, font analyzer, spacing visualizer). This affects only your local view of those pages and has no effect on the page for anyone else. No page content is transmitted anywhere.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how you use the extension and what you do with the screenshots you take. You agree not to use Snipetic to capture or reproduce content in ways that violate applicable law, infringe on the rights of others, or breach the terms of service of the sites you visit.

The extension is a tool. What you do with it is on you.

Suspension and termination

We reserve the right to disable access to Pro features or revoke license activations in Snipetic for Microsoft Edge if we detect fraud, license abuse, or material violations of these terms.

Free and Pro plans

Chrome edition

Snipetic for Chrome is currently free and includes core website capture and feedback tools.

Microsoft Edge free tier

Snipetic for Microsoft Edge includes free capture and feedback tools.

Microsoft Edge Pro

Snipetic Pro for Microsoft Edge is optional and may unlock advanced tools such as scroll container capture, ruler, font analyzer, arrow, blur, redact, and step annotations, browser frame mockup, export with annotations, and save and reopen projects. It is available as an annual plan ($11/year), billed through LemonSqueezy. A 7-day free trial is included on new Edge installs with no credit card required.

In the Microsoft Edge edition, a Pro license key activates on up to 3 devices. You can deactivate a device at any time from the extension options page to free up a slot. Pro licenses require periodic validation with LemonSqueezy. If the extension cannot validate for more than 7 days while offline, Pro features may pause until connectivity is restored.

Billing and cancellation

This section applies only to Snipetic for Microsoft Edge users with an active Pro subscription. Snipetic for Chrome is free and has no billing, subscription, or payment processing.

Snipetic Pro for Microsoft Edge is billed annually at $11/year through LemonSqueezy. You can cancel anytime through your LemonSqueezy account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your annual billing period and you keep full Pro access until then.

Snipetic does not directly handle or store your payment card details. All payments are processed by LemonSqueezy as Merchant of Record. Refunds and billing disputes are subject to LemonSqueezy's billing policies and applicable law. If you believe there is a billing error on our end, contact us at hello@snipetic.com and we will work with you to resolve it.

Extension permissions

Snipetic requests four browser permissions. None of them grant background access to your tabs or data.

activeTab — Grants temporary access to the tab you are actively using at the moment you invoke the extension. Required to take screenshots and inject in-page tools. Access is limited to the single tab and the single moment you trigger a capture or tool — the extension cannot access any tab without a direct user action.

scripting — Allows the extension to inject JavaScript into the active page. Required to power in-page tools such as the element inspector, ruler, font analyzer, and spacing visualizer, which need to read the page's rendered layout and styles. No scripts are injected into any page until you explicitly invoke a tool.

storage / unlimitedStorage — Allows data to be saved in your browser's local extension storage. Required to temporarily hold captured screenshots between the capture step and the viewer tab opening, and to persist preferences such as the fixed nav toggle. unlimitedStorage is needed because full-page screenshots can be large files. No data is sent to any server.

offscreen — Allows the extension to create a hidden offscreen document. Required to stitch together multiple frames for full-page captures without exceeding the memory limits of the extension's background service worker. The offscreen document performs image processing only and is never shown to you.

For full details on how data is stored and handled, see our Privacy Policy.

Limitations and known constraints

Chrome and Edge restrict extensions from capturing browser system pages such as chrome://, edge://, devtools://, chrome-extension://, edge-extension://, browser web stores, and other protected browser-controlled surfaces — this is a hard browser security restriction, not something we can work around. Some pages with complex rendering, strict content security policies, or non-standard scrolling behavior may produce unexpected results. We do our best to handle edge cases but cannot guarantee perfect output on every site.

Intellectual property

Snipetic and its branding are owned by us. The extension is not open source. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, copy, modify, or redistribute the extension or any part of it, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law. Your captures and annotations belong to you.

No warranty

Snipetic is provided as-is. We do not warrant that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every page or browser version. Browser updates occasionally break extension behavior — we address those issues as quickly as we can, but there may be gaps. Use the extension at your own discretion.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Snipetic and its developers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension. Our total liability to you for any direct damages shall not exceed the amount you paid for Pro in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top will change. Continuing to use the extension after an update means you accept the revised terms. If a change is significant, we'll make a reasonable effort to communicate it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Snipetic shall be resolved in the courts located in New York, NY.
